Keep your phone system, add an intelligent voice extension.
One authenticated extension
Configure the SIP account details for an extension and register VumaIVR like another endpoint.
Standard SIP call control
Use standard registration, calling, hang-up and transfer signalling for the core call experience.
No confusing API dependency
Basic registration, calling and transfer do not depend on a vendor-specific phone system integration.
Optional enhancements
Platform-specific integrations can add directory or presence data without becoming a requirement for core operation.
A clearer operational workflow
Adopt AI voice without redesigning the telephone system.
VumaIVR behaves as an authenticated SIP extension. Route calls to it using the phone system you already understand, then configure the voice, prompt and permitted actions within VumaIVR. The result is a simpler boundary between telephony and AI.

Frequently asked questions
Practical answers.
What does compatible with different phone systems mean?
Core call control uses standard SIP and RTP rather than requiring a vendor-specific API. The phone system must support compatible SIP extension registration and PCMU audio.
What information is required to connect?
Typically the phone system address, extension number, authentication name where applicable and SIP password. Network and codec compatibility must also be confirmed.
Do we need Yeastar OpenAPI?
No. Yeastar OpenAPI is an optional enhancement for directory, presence and webhook information. It is not required for basic registration, calls or SIP transfers.
Add AI to the phone system you already use.
Confirm SIP compatibility and see the setup workflow.
